Respected Sirs,

Sub:– Facilities for field staff in CBIC on par with CBDT and state GST- reg.

It has been brought to the notice of this Federation that the facilities provided to the field staff in Central GST, for effective execution of work is far lesser than that are provided for their counterparts in the CBDT and State GST.
The facilities like vehicle and infrastructure provided for the field level officials of the GST by various States is found to be far superior to that which are provided for of our officials. The GST Offices in many states are reported to have been provided with Mobile phones for enabling public interaction as well as to operate institute specific apps in relation to the execution of their work.  On the other hand, in CBIC, officials are being compelled to give their personal mobile numbers and use them for office purposes, without reimbursements for the same.
Similarly, in the CBDT, the Officers from the level of Inspectors are being provided Lap tops, mobile phones with SIM and recharge allowance, for effective execution of their duties.  In sharp contrast, even the meagre number of laptops provided for field staff in Audit alone, also have been made effectively unusable by programming them to the All In One mode and being made capable of functioning only with VP Network.
Hence the CBIC is required to urgently equip its field staff on par with their counterparts in CBDT and State GST, if we are to be in the race in the new GST era.  We hope urgent instructions will be issued to the concerned in this regard.

                                                                                                             Yours truly,

                                                                                                           (R. Manimohan)
Secretary General
