Suspension of two Inspectors in Lucknow Zone revoked
Congratulations to all friends and comrades for the united approach as a result of which the suspension of the two Inspectors in Lucknow Zone is reported to have been revoked today.
However, we have to keep a keen eye on their complete restoration.
The entire episode would also serve as an eye opener to our young brethren about the inner administrative mechanism of our department.
This will also enable them to be better prepared organisationally in the days to come.
One main factor in this episode we have to understand is that we cannot stand on two stools. If two of our brethren were victimised today, it was most probably because a majority (at least in the same zone) took a different stand. The fascination towards wearing of uniform (without prescription) on one hand and resistance to the slavish attitude attempted to be heaped upon us in its name, cannot go hand in hand.
There is another notion that just because there is a 'Dress Allowance', it automatically means that we are to be in uniform. As long as such a uniform or dress code is not prescribed by the Department, it only means that this allowance is also like the Transport Allowance, News Paper Allowance or Daily Allowance, for which we need not show proof.
If at all a dress code is to be prescribed, it has to reflect the work culture of the present date and represent dignity.
Let us consciously take the movement forward for a better tomorrow of and in the department.

Wearing a Uniform should give feel of Pride, through work-culture & offiOf environment.
In CBIC, it's converted to ceremonial prank under name of Protocol (to whom???).
Today, Uniform allowance is disbursed even without any undertaking or declaration.
Additionally, Uniform has to be for a 'Service'. Are we treated as part of IRS Service? If so, why in successive CRs the Monograph not followed?
If we are not part of IRS Service then, for wearing a defined & prescribed Uniform the CR-2018 should propose for us a separate "Service" viz: Central GST Branch-B Service.
